Independent convenience stores, gas stations, smoke shops, liquor stores and delis — one shop or a handful. It is built for the owner who is also behind the counter, not for a chain with a head office. If you have staff, a price book and suppliers who send invoices, it fits.
No. DAXOne runs in a browser on whatever you already have — phone, tablet, laptop or the office PC. If you want the till side too, the register runs on an ordinary Android tablet and we have an app you can install; a receipt printer and cash drawer are optional and we support common ones. Nothing has to be replaced to start.
If you run a Verifone Commander or RubyCi, yes — DAXOne reads your sales as they ring and can send prices, new items and deals back to it, so you keep the register and gain the back office. Gilbarco Passport is next and will read sales. On anything else DAXOne still runs as your back office; it just will not talk to the till until we have built that connection, and we will tell you plainly which you have.

The till keeps selling. The register holds your price book on the device and queues the sales, then uploads them when the line is back — nothing is lost and nothing is rung twice. The back office does need the internet, so reports and invoice reading wait until you are back online.
It does the hours, not the tax. The time clock, overtime, and a Pay Statement showing hours and gross pay for each person — which you send to whoever files your payroll. We deliberately do not calculate withholding or file anything: that belongs with your payroll provider or accountant, and a back office that pretends otherwise is doing you no favours. Sales tax is totalled and reported for you.
